New pay agreement for the childcare sector
As demand for childcare professionals increases, a new pay agreement to provide pay increases and a wage structure for early learning and childcare workers has been approved by the Government.
Demand for hospitality staff unrelenting
Ireland’s summer season is well underway, and the demand for talent in hospitality is unrelenting. Our analysis of job posting data over the last three months shows that jobs in the industry are up 60% compared to the same time last year and have grown 18% compared to the first three months of 2022. The hospitality sector’s rebound from Covid is almost complete, with jobs now within shouting distance of their pre-pandemic levels.

Ten days paid sick leave for employees by 2026
Employees will be able to take up to ten days of paid sick leave every year from 2026 following Cabinet approval of the Sick Leave Bill 2022. The decision means Ireland will have a statutory sick pay scheme for the first time ever.

Fáilte Ireland is to launch its first-ever Employer Excellent Programme to help address the staffing and skills challenges faced by the hospitality industry. The robust and wide-ranging programme has been created following collaborative research with the industry and insightful jobseeker research in partnership with Jobs.ie.
