Demand for staff in the hospitality sector surged in May as employers in restaurants and hotels prepared for the June reopening.
According to our latest data deep dive which examined job postings on our platform for the month of May, hotel vacancies increased by 70 per cent compared to the previous month, while jobs in restaurants rose by 63 per cent. Of the total jobs on our platform in May, hospitality jobs (hotels and restaurants) were 23 per cent of all jobs posted.
Other sectors which also experienced an increased demand for staff in May include Childcare with roles increasing by 70 per cent and Hair and Beauty ,with job posting rising by 56 per cent compared to April. Drivers were also much sought after by employers with job postings for these roles up 69 per cent compared to the previous month.
