Hickeys Pharmacy are recruiting for a part-time Pharmacy Healthcare Advisor to join our team in Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

Summary of Role:

The Pharmacy Healthcare Advisor within Hickey's Pharmacy are the first point of contact for our customers, they meet the vast majority of customers' needs through the selling of medicines, offering professional, knowledgeable and confidential advice on all products and services, while referring to the Pharmacist with more complex issues that will assist the customer with any illness or healthcare concern. The successful applicant must be available to work flexible working hours as required including evenings and weekends.


  • Provides professional and confidential customer care while advising on healthcare needs
  • Offers a high standard of knowledge and advice on our products and services
  • Maximises sales through link-selling, merchandising and store layout as required to achieve stores targets
  • Performs cash management duties accurately and securely in line with the group Cash Handling and EPOS policies
  • Works safely and consistently to meet the standards set out in the company SOP's
  • Maintains stock holding, pricing, ordering and merchandising in accordance with the group Purchasing policy
  • Removes all damaged / out of date stock from the shelves and returns to supplier
  • Reports any discrepancies / errors to store manager as soon as they occur
  • Develops personal selling skills and knowledge of all products, services and company initiatives
  • Attends any training required of them to improve and maintain excellent product knowledge and develop personal skills
  • Maintains the appearance of the store while adhering to the stores security and Health & Safety standards and reporting any issues to the store manager
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner when caring for customers
  • Works constructively as a positive team player while communicating with team members effectively
  • Follows and implements all Company Policies and Procedures to drive the business
  • Completes any other adhoc tasks as required assigned by a member of management
  • Must be flexible to work late nights, weekends and bank holidays
  • Pharmacy experience would be an advantage but not essential
