Candidate Profile:

This role will suit an energetic individual who has gained a minimum of 5 years relevant sector experience (food/meat processing) working as a Production Manager or at a similar level within a quality well run business. You will be a pro-active individual who is always seeking to get things done and at the same time juggling a variety of tasks. You will possess the ability to mentor, counsel, coach and support your team, building trust and morale and encouraging individuals to give their best performance. In line with the move to a new factory, you will enjoy creating a culture of continuous improvement, at the same time always ensuring compliance with systems, procedures and company objectives of this growing and entrepreneurial SME business. Essentially you will have a thorough, detailed and disciplined work style, combined with an ability to manage and influence using a confident and poised approach. Ideally you will be third level educated with relevant industry training and qualfications eg Lean Six Sigma, and and have excellent IT skills gained within a manufacturing or production environment. Essentially you will be an influential manager with strong inter-personal and relationship building skills to work across different departments including finance, production and quality, and interacting with customers and visitors as necessary.


Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will involve:

  • Management of team of supervisors covering production, logistics, dispatch and maintenance
  • Recruitment and training of all factory staff managing resource budget
  • Management of staff rostering and holiday planning
  • Stock management and control to ensure efficient production
  • Purchasing of stock and materials
  • Responsibility for maintaining IT system within production
  • Overseeing collection and delivery functions
  • Ensuring compliance with HACCP
  • Continuously challenging efficiencies and developing KPI’s
  • Close liaison with sales, finance, quality teams
  • Work closely with Managing Director in planned relocation to new factory
