Due to continued expansion of the company’s fleet, a vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Marine Engineer.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Marine Engineer and the fleet’s Superintendents on the repair and overhaul of ships’ equipment such as engines, pumps, hydraulics.
Various skills are required – mechanical, engineering, fitting and welding.
The role will be based in Arklow but will involve travel to vessels (both in Ireland and overseas) and on vessels to complete repairs under supervision. As repairs and travel may be required at short notice, a flexible approach is required.
Experience and competence as a diesel or plant fitter or as a fabricator is essential and experience in the marine industry or maintaining heavy plant and machinery would be advantageous.
Preference will be given to candidates based within a maximum of 30kms of Arklow. Candidates will need a full, clean driving licence and unrestricted passport.
This is a permanent position subject to a probation period and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment and progress with the growth of the Company. Indicative salary terms will be discussed with candidates selected for interview.
