Headquartered in Dublin with offices in Edinburgh and London, the Abbey group employees 148 permanent staff and has overseas representatives in ten key markets.

The Group has four divisions specialising in specific types of inbound tourism:

  • Group Travel 
  • Individual & Online Travel
  • Incentive & Luxury Leisure Travel
  • Association Conferences & Events



 Reporting to the Group Finance Director the candidate will have responsibility for:

  • Preparation of a monthly Management Reporting Pack with full analysis and commentary on the performance of all companies in the Group for the executive management team and board
  • Annual year end reporting and overall responsibility for annual external audit and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Financial Budgeting and Forecasting including risk analysis
  • Ensuring tax compliance throughout the Group and managing returns
  • Developing and managing financial systems and ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place
  • Liaising with all stake holders, managerial staff and other colleagues
  • Leading and managing the Irish and UK Finance teams based in Dublin, Edinburgh and London
  • Ad-hoc projects will be ongoing, including systems developments and implementation



  • Degree in relevant discipline. ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with at least five years’ post qualification industry experience, including experience in a similar role
  • Ability to demonstrate strong commercial acumen
  • Demonstrates high level of professionalism at all times
  • Highly motivated and dynamic – ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets
  • Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills with an aptitude to understand new concepts quickly



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programmes essential – Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
