Job Description

My client is a statutory body with offices located in Dublin City Centre. They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join them on a temporary basis.

Interested applicants must be available for immediate employment and be able to commit to a minimum period of 6 months.

This position will hold the following responsibilities:

•Manage and develop appropriate financial records and systems to meet the requirements of the Authority
•Be responsible for facilitating the preparation and regular review of the annual service plan
•Prepare annual, monthly and regular reports for the Authority
•Monitor developments and ensure compliance with accounting standards and requirements
•Liaise with auditors
•Manage, monitor and develop computerised accounting systems
•Manage debtors, creditors and payroll
•Assist with budget preparation
•Lead, motivate and develop staff
•Undertake projects as required

To be considered for this role, applicants will meet the following requirements:

•Experience of a similar role within the civil/public service, and knowledge of government accounting guidelines and policies would be an advantage
•Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification is essential, and/or a professional accounting qualification
•Minimum of 5 years finance experience, to include experience of up-to-date accounting and financial reporting systems
•The person appointed must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organisation and the ability to handle multiple tasks
•Excellent analytical and organisational skills are essential as well as ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
•The person must also be highly motivated and able to work independently on his or her own initiative and as a member of a team
•Computer proficiency and a strong working knowledge of Sage 200

This role will be offered at Assistant Principal grade with a salary of €64,729.
