With 75 years of heritage, Solvar has become an internationally known jewellery company focused on creating sense of place products for travel, cultural and heritage markets. While Irish and Celtic jewellery for the visitor to Ireland and the US Irish-American markets are the biggest contributor in terms of sales revenue, increasingly the company is creating products for leading visitor attractions and destinations internationally.



Solvar are currently recruiting for the role of Sales and Marketing Manager to develop, lead and manage all direct revenue generating activities of the business in Ireland and our developing markets outside of North America. The successful candidate must have previous or current experience as a Sales and Marketing Manager and  will be a strong communicator who is a forward planner, self-driven, dynamic and passionate about the brands they work with, having an understanding and aptitude for selling and promoting destination merchandise.

 Working with major visitor attractions, travel retail operators, tourist gift stores and select on-line retailers in Ireland and Europe, the key responsibilities for the role include:


  • Leading our established Ireland based sales and marketing team to grow our portfolio of Irish jewellery brands within all distribution channels, to enhance our value to our customers by optimizing our product’s retail performance at store level and to develop new markets for our destination specific product.

  • Directly managing key strategic accounts via a hands on account management approach including promoting strong ongoing business relationships, commercial negotiation, seasonal buying, arranging product & sales training, visual merchandising guidance and in-store marketing initiatives.

  • Building brand awareness and integrity within the wider networks of visitor attractions, travel and cultural heritage locations.

  • In conjunction within the executive team, defining the marketing strategy and leading the marketing team, creative and agencies to align the annual marketing plan in accordance with strategy and objectives.

  • Developing a strategic insight process to inform and assist in developing product development roadmaps, sales, and brand marketing initiatives to differentiate and add value to Solvar products in its markets.



  • Minimum 7 years’ sales and marketing experience at a senior level

  • Experience within premium branded, FMCG or affordable luxury product categories dealing with multiple brand portfolios / distribution channels is highly desirable

  • Proven experience of strong business development and account management combined with strategic analytical mind-set, planning and sales drive

  • Have an understanding of the value drivers of a business and be able to identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share

  • Identify and communicate to a product development team, category opportunities that maximise differentiation and growth in the marketplace

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills and the ability to develop talent to support an expanding and changing business environment

  • Flexible to travel in Ireland and Europe approximately 30-40% of your time
  • A full clean driving license is required
  • A working knowledge of a European language would be an advantage
