In-Centre Courses

 Software Tester (BL92R)

Starting on 1st May, this course is suitable for those who wish to start a career in the IT sector or change to a career in the IT sector. Modules include software development lifecycle, software testing, automated testing, SQL scripting, job seeking skills and four weeks work experience. Applicants must ideally have ECDL level or QQI level 4 or equivalent with a knowledge of spreadsheets.

Office Equipment Maintenance (BL99R)

Starting on 22nd May, this course equips learners with the skills and related knowledge in electronic servicing and the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of business equipment and networks. Modules include career planning and job seeking skills, customer care & in company training.

Pharmacy Sales (BLS95)

Starting on 19th June this course is ideal for those who may wish to work in a retail environment particularly in the Pharmacy retail sector. Modules include retail sales techniques, grooming & skin care, customer service, IT skills, product knowledge – over the counter, stock control & career planning and job seeking skills. Certification is Retail Skills – Level 4.

Hotel Reception & Guest Services (BL07877)

Starting in July, the Hotel Reception & Guest Services course aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and ability required to find work as front line reception staff within the hospitality industry. Learners will cover modules including how to handle guest reservations and cancellations, manage payments, answer guest queries, produce documents, safeguard guest information, maintain the reception area and deal with telephone calls. Upon completion, successful learners will receive a Diploma in Reception Services City and Guilds 8067-02 and a Certificate in Microsoft Office User Specialist in Word and Excel.

Multimedia Training Facility (BL923)

Multi Media Training provides part time training programmes for individuals that consists of self-paced, flexible training methods using the latest Multi Media Technology and Training Packages. This programme has a continuous intake. The aims of the training programmes are to provide participants with the skills, knowledge, know-how and competence in the skills of their choice. Programmes covered include Dreamweaver CS5, Photoshop CS5, Flash CS5, Microsoft Office Specialist Modules – Access, Excel & Word( maximum of 2 modules, ECDL (any three of the seven modules) – Adobe, Microsoft & ECDL certification will be offered where applicable. All of the above may be completed on a singular modular basis.

Contracted Training Courses

Getting Started with IT -Multimedia (DN08156)

Starting in April, this course will take place in Blanchardstown and will equip participants with skills, knowledge and competence in computers. The programme consists of self-paced, flexible training methods using latest multimedia technology and training packages. A training needs analysis will be completed for each trainee

Professional Office Administrator (DN08731)

Starting in April, this course will take place in Baldoyle Training Centre and aims to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work providing administration services and support in a range of office administration contexts.

Modules include Contact Centre Skills, Information and Administration, Text Production and Word Processing. Learners may choose for their last module either Medical Terminology, Legal Practice & Procedures or Bookkeeping (Manual & computerized). This last module takes place in a self-directed learning format.

Employment Skills: Security (DN09098)

Starting in April, this security course will take place in Blanchardstown and will give successful participants the award required to apply for a PSA Security License and work in a security role. Participants will learn the essential skills, attitude and related knowledge required to find employment as a security guard. This course is certified with a QQI Component Level 4 Award in Security Guarding. The course will include Manual Handling and SafePass and also includes a module on Career Guidance and Job Targeting. 

Employment Skills: DIY Retailing (DN09104)

This course will run in two locations – Blanchardstown & Balbriggan with the Blanchardstown course starting in April and the Balbriggan course starting in May.

The Employment Skills – DIT Retailing Course will provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to work in the area of DIY retailing. On successful completion, participants will be awarded City & Guilds certificates in both Customer Service in the Retail Sector and Health & Safety Awareness in the Workplace. Manual Handling is included within the course along with a module on Career Guidance and Job Targeting.

Employment Skills: Barista, HACCP & Retail Skills (DN09100)

Starting in May, a course will take place in the Blanchardstown area. The programme will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and competence required to operate effectively as a Barista with the ability to implement Food Safety Processes and Procedures. Certification will be Barista Skills – Level 4. Manual Handling is included within the course.

Heavy Goods Vehicle Driving (HGV) – Rigid (DN394)

Starting in May, this course will take place in Baldoyle Training Centre. Modules include Driver CPC, HGV Driving (Rigid), career planning & job seeking skills, Forklift Truck Driving also included. Applicants must have a full current Class B Driving License and Provisional Category C learner permit.

Special Needs Assistant Short Course (DN09114).

Starting in May, the course will take place in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. This programme aims to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence in the practices and principles underpinning the role of a Special Needs Assistant to enable the learner to work effectively under direction in a special needs capacity. Certification will be a Level 5 component award in Early Childhood Care & Education. Applicants should ideally have a positive outlook and an interest in working in the education sector.

Bus Driving – D License (DN07176)

Starting in May, the Bus Driving course will take place in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

This course aims to give learners the skills needed to find work as a Bus Driver.

Learners will expand on their existing knowledge and receive the training in CPC, Manual Handling & Fire Safety and Customer Service. Applicants must have a full current Class B Driving License and Provisional Category D learner permit.
