Duration & Attendance
This is a 1/2 day MEWP course with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 participants.
Pre Course Requirements
Participants must be at least 16 years of age.
Participants must have a minimum of 6 months practical experience under supervision of a competent person.
Who will benefit?
The course is intended for new and experienced Mobile Elevating work Platforms (M.E.W.P) operators, wishing to gain certification or refresh/ renew previous certification to operate an M.E.W.P.
Participants will be able to:
- Drive the machine safely and maneuver it as required to a correct position.
- Carryout the operation of the machine in correct and appropriate manner inside or outside a building.

- Introduction to MEWP.
- Safe operation & Limitations of use.
- Identification of Major Components.
- Pre- Use Checks & Inspections.
- Checks Prior to Road Travel.
- Site Condition & Route Planning.
- Traveling and Maneuvering.
- Setting the machine for work.
- Typical work Applications.
- Test – Practical and Verbal.
- Course Review and Questionnaire
Additional Information
This course is held at our training facility on the Kells Road, 5 minutes from the centre of town. Free car parking, tea & coffee is provided. A dedicated eating area including microwave, fridge & vending machine is available for course breaks.

Assessment & Certification
Participants who successfully complete this course of instruction will be awarded a Navan Hire, Hardware & Training Centre Certificate of Competence & ID card. This certification is valid for 3 years.
