This course is currently also offered on demand so Navan Safety Training Centre can offer this course at a date and time that suits your schedule. Duration & Attendance
This is 2.5 hour Manual Handling course with a maximum of 12 participants.
Who will benefit?
Under the safety, Health and welfare at work (General Application Regulations) 2007, it is a requirement that ALL employees attend Manual Handling Training.
This course is for any employees who need knowledge of safe manual handling in the areas such as
- Lift to and from ground level.
- Lift to & from a bench.
- Lift to and from a height.
- Push a load & pull a load.
- Team Lifting.
- Lifting bags/sacks ( if appropriate)
What will be covered?
- Manual Handling Legislation – as it applies to the employer and employee.
- Dangers and harm caused by careless/ unskilled methods of Manual Handling.
- Principles of levers and laws of motion.
- Anatomy of the Spine and muscular System.
- How to handle loads safely.
- Practice in safe handling of loads
Additional Information
This Manual Handling course is held at our training facility on the Kells Road, 5 minutes from the centre of town. Free car parking, tea & coffee is provided. A dedicated eating area including microwave, fridge & vending machine is available for course breaks.
This Manual Handling course can also be offered at any location nationwide.

Assessment & Certification
Participants who successfully complete this course of instruction will be awarded a Navan Hire, Hardware & Training Centre Certificate of Competence & ID Card. This certification is valid for 3 years.
