The MSc in Computer Science is a 15-month intensive postgraduate/conversion programme, which provides a thorough foundation in the practical aspects of the development and management of modern Information Systems (IS). The course is designed to help you capitalise on your employment potential. It is offered in conjunction with University College Dublin (UCD).
This programme is particularly suitable for graduates in a non-computing discipline who have a strong interest in furthering their knowledge and practical skills in IS.
Delivery and Duration
The programme runs from September 2011 to December 2012 and is divided into four semesters. Students will attend workshops and lectures at both the Institute of Public Administration and UCD, Belfield.
The MSc in Computer Science will include the following subjects:
- Foundations in Hardware and Software
- Knowledge Engineering
- Agent Oriented Software
- Systems Management & Networking
- C/C++ Programming
- SQL Programming
- Wireless Networking
- Internet Technologies & Web Design
- Other Elective courses
On completion of the programme students are awarded an MSc. Students may exit from the programme, at an earlier date, with a Higher Diploma, provided they reach the specified number of credits.
Assessment for this programme is based on a mixture of online assessment, practical assessment and project work.
