The Garda Siochana has designed and developed its own recruitment programme to enable the selection of the most suitable candidates. The initial recruitment is based on a competition composed of a preliminary application, a set of aptitude tests and a series of interviews. The successful candidates are then invited to take part in a two year training programme.
