March 2012 @ Navan Safety Training Centre: (Novice 2 day Training) Saturday 3rd & Monday 5th and Tuesday 20th &Wednesday 21st
(Experienced 1 day Training) Saturday 3rd, Monday 5th ,Friday 16th and Monday 26th .
This course is currently offered on demand so Navan Safety Training Centre is flexible in offering this course at a date and time that suits your schedule. Duration & Attendance
Duration is depending on experience with a maximum of 4 participants.
Beginners: 3 to 4 days depending on number of hours worked
Refresher : 1 day
Experienced but not trained: 1.5 to 2 days to gain certification
Who Will Benefit
The Forklift Truck course is intended for new and experienced Forklift truck drivers, wishing to gain certification or refresh / renew previous certification.
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Operate a forklift safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians and increase the efficiency of forklift truck operators.
- Use safe operating techniques.
- Refuel / recharge forklifts safely.
- Correctly position forklift in relation to task requirements.
What will be covered?
- Legislation daily inspection procedures.
- Stability general safety rules.
- Loading and stacking procedures De- Stacking and unloading.
- Maintenance checks and charging batteries.
- Fuelling procedures.
Additional Information
This Forklift Truck course is held at our training facility on the Kells Road, 5 minutes from the centre of town. Free car parking, tea & coffee is provided. A dedicated eating area including microwave, fridge & vending machine is available for course breaks.

Assessment & Certification
Participants must complete both theoretical and practical tests. Participants who successfully complete this course of instruction will be awarded a Navan Hire, Hardware & Training Centre Certificate of Competence & ID Card which are RTITB accredited. This certification is valid for 3 years.
