The Aim of the CompTIA A+ & CISCO CCNA Course is to:

Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to install, configure and optimise personal computer hardware and operating systems, providing you with the necessary skills to take the CompTIA A+ Essentials and IT Technician Exams.

Through extensive hands-on exercises, you gain the fundamental knowledge and skills you need to install, configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers. Successfully install and configure Cisco routers and switches to build internetworks.

Combined CompTIA A+ & CISCO CCNA (CISCO Certifiied Network Associate)

The CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today’s computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognised by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. CompTIA A+ confirms a Technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The exams also cover domains such as security, safety, environmental issues, communication and professionalism.

 CCNA® Discovery (New Syllabus)
Dorset College is an official CISCO Local Academy which has been certified by CISCO to offer courses of study leading to CCNA® certification. All courses are taught by CISCO Certified Instructors. The CISCO CCNA® Discovery curriculum provides foundational networking knowledge, practical experience, opportunities for career exploration, and soft-skills development to help students prepare for entry-level careers in IT and networking. The curriculum offers a hands-on approach to learning, and uses interactive tools and easy-to-follow labs to help students learn the general theory needed to build networks.

Students will sit the CompTIA A+ & CISCO CCNA On-Line examinations at Dorset College in our Prometric testing centre. 

• Students are continually assessed throughout both the IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software (CompTIA A+) and the CISCO CCNA® Discovery modules 1 through 4. A Certificate of Course Completion is awarded for each successfully completed module. On successful completion of all of the above modules the student has the requisite knowledge to sit the CompTIA A+ 220-701, 220-702 professional examinations and the 640-802 CCNA® professional examination which awards the CCNA® qualification, validated by CISCO Systems Inc.
