Cloud Certified Professional (CCP™) program

The Cloud Certified Professional (CCP™) program is dedicated to excellence in the fields of cloud computing technology, architecture, security, and governance. A collection of courses establish a set of vendor-neutral industry certifications for different areas of specialization. Founded by best-selling author, Thomas Erl, this curriculum enables IT professionals to develop real-world cloud computing proficiency. Because of the vendor-neutral focus of the course materials, the skills acquired by attaining CloudSchool.com certifications are applicable to any vendor or cloud platform.

How will you benefit?

  • A Certified Cloud Technology Professional has demonstrated proficiency in the concepts, IT resources, and implementation mechanisms used to assemble and evolve cloud platforms via common utilization models, such as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).
  • An understanding of fundamental cloud computing concepts and terminology are second nature to the Cloud Technology Professional, as well as the advantages, disadvantages, and general implications of using and combining common cloud computing mechanisms and cloud security mechanisms.
  • Further, the Cloud Technology Professional must possess the ability to associate cloud computing mechanisms to the realization of specific characteristics, benefits, and goals assigned to cloud environments and cloud-based solutions.
  • Conversely, the Cloud Technology Professional needs to be able to identify the common threats and challenges to cloud services and supporting IT resources, in order to leverage cloud security mechanisms and when necessary, moderate the use of cloud computing mechanisms.
  •  This course covers a range of topics related to cloud computing mechanisms, cloud security threats and controls, and essential cloud technologies. Also addressed are testing, cloud storage, industry standards, and emerging technologies and trends.

Pre-requisites

This Cloud Certified Professional Course is suitable for those seeking to exploit the benefits of cloud computing technologies and assess the potential for cloud computing in their organisation. While there are no pre-requisites an understanding of XML Technologies or Enterprise IT Architecture is recommended.    Suitable for Managers who want to explore the opportunities and risks so that they can make an informed decision.

Principal Areas of Study

Exam C90.01: Fundamental Cloud Computing.  A passing grade in each exam is a requirement for completion of next module certifications

Module 2: Cloud Technology Concepts
This course explores a range of the most important and relevant technology-related topics that pertain to contemporary cloud computing platforms. The course content does not get into implementation or programming details, but instead keeps coverage at a conceptual level, focusing on topics that address cloud service architecture, cloud security threats and technologies, virtualization and data processing.

Proven technologies are defined and classified as concrete architectural building blocks called "mechanisms". The purpose of this course is to introduce cloud computing-related technology topics in a manner that is accessible to a wide range of IT professionals, as well as to empower participants with an understanding of the fundamental mechanics of a cloud platform, how the different "moving parts" can be combined, and how to address common threats and pitfalls.

Topics Covered

  • Cloud Computing Mechanisms that Establish Architectural Building Blocks
  • Virtual Servers, Ready-Made Environments, Failover Systems, and Pay-for-Use Monitors
  • Mapping Cloud Computing Mechanisms to Cloud Characteristics
  • Combining Cloud Computing Mechanisms
  • Cloud Balancing and Cloud Bursting Architectures
  • Common Risks, Threats and Vulnerabilities of Cloud-based Services and Cloud-hosted Solutions
  • Cloud Security Mechanisms Used to Counter Threats and Attacks
  • Single Sign-On for Cloud-Based Services

  • Emerging Cloud Computing Industry Standards and Community Projects
  • To achieve this certification, the following exams must be completed with a passing grade:

Exam C90.02. Cloud Technology Concepts.  This is required for the next module certifications

Module 3 - Cloud Technology Lab
This course module presents participants with a series of exercises and problems designed to test their ability to apply their knowledge of topics covered previously in course modules 1 and 2. Completing this lab will help highlight areas that require further attention and will further prove hands-on proficiency in cloud computing concepts, technologies, and practices – as they are applied and combined to solve real-world problems.

As a hands-on lab, this course provides a set of detailed exercises. Both individual and group exercises are provided, requiring participants to solve a number of inter-related problems, with the ultimate goal of assessing, measuring, and planning for the deployment of cloud-based IT resources, and establishing cloud computing technology architectures based on Software-as-a Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) delivery models.

The Certified Cloud Trainer works closely with participants to ensure that all exercises are carried out completely and accurately. Attendees can voluntarily have exercises reviewed and graded as part of the class completion.

Certification
This course correspondes to exam C90.03 which is required for the following Certifications:
