| Entry Requirements |
Minimum age is 17 years.
Learners should have a FETAC Level 5 Component Certificate or equivalent and should be working in a childcare setting.
Learners must also be capable of undertaking assessment work to Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate standard.
International learners undertaking this course should have confidence in their English language, reading, writing and comprehension skills and have at least a 5 IELTS score or equivalent.

| Who should participate in this course? |
Learner's who wish to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills required to understand child psychology, in the age range from 4-18 years, revevant to childhood education and care settings .
This course would be beneficial to Crèche staff, playgroup staff, nannies, parents, child minders, teachers etc.

| Work Experience |
It is recommended that the learner complete 30 hours work experience in a childcare setting, e.g. preschool, school, crèche, home setting, etc.

The award is assessed based on a portfolio of work, two assignments and a project
