| Course Aims & Objectives |
| The aim of the Certificate in Event Management is to provide participants with the |
| numerous skills they need to work as professional event managers. You will learn how |
| to prepare, implement and evaluate events as well as co-ordinate the different |
| elements that make an event memorable. The course will explore how to prepare |
| winning proposals, effectively negotiate with suppliers, manage finances and the |
| budget, locate suitable venues and schedule staff. Tips will be explored as to how to |
| design and implement a successful event. |
You will have an opportunity to put together your own event proposal for a real event of your choice and this will form a major part of your assessment for the course. Students who successfully complete the Certificate in Event Management automatically qualify to enter the Diploma in Event Management programme.

Methodology
The principal method of learning is through lectures, course notes, assignments and projects. Students are expected to read recommended texts to complement course materials. Successful candidates will be awarded the Certificate in Event Management.
Cost and duration
The duration of the Certificate in Event Management course is one evening per week over ten weeks. The cost is 950 Euro which includes assessment fees. Evening class plus Saturday class option.
