This programme is specifically designed for healthcare professionals both inside and outside of a hospital setting.
The course assumes that the participant has a healthcare education and qualification and strong emphasis is placed on anatomy and physiology and on scientific rationale for actions and recommendations in the event of resuscitation.
The course has several features designed to help learn CPR, ventilation with a barrier device and bag valve mask device, foreign body airway obstruction in victims of all ages and the use of an AED automated external defibrillator.
The skills will enable the participant to recognise life threatening emergencies and provide the first three links in the adult and paediatric chains of survival.
