We have two head offices one based in Islington – this is where all our
designers & heads of departments are based. Our other head office is based in
Seaham, which is home to our support functions such as IT, HR & finance. We also
have a distribution centre in Bowburn, Durham. In the current troubled economic
climate Jacques Vert is one of the few retailers who are still growing in these
difficult times
In 1972, Jack Cynamon and Alan Green, two tailors from the East End of London,
started in business together making clothes. Their skills and strength in
clothing design and production resulted in a series of successful womenswear
collections. In 1977 they created a range of co-ordinated fashion for the
discerning woman. Combining their names and adding a French twist, the Jacques
Vert brand was born and shortly afterwards became a public company.
The company, which is today listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the
London Stock Exchange, expanded into a multi-branded fashion-retailing group in
December 2002 with the acquisition of William Baird Plc. This added three
further womenswear labels – Planet, Precis Petite and Windsmoor, plus a large
garment manufacturer in Sri Lanka.
The four brands under the Jacques Vert umbrella are now retailed in over 900
outlets, mostly as concessions within leading department stores, but also as a
number of stand alones. While the majority of these are located within the UK,
the brands are also sold in over thirty stores in Canada and in an expanding
number of stores in the Republic of Ireland. Each brand operates its own
successful online web store bringing the product directly into the homes of
thousands of customers.
The group also offers its products direct to corporate clients and other
organisations looking for a range of stylish and versatile clothing for their
employees.
Jacques Vert
 Jacques

reflect the often-hectic, working and social lifestyle of self-assured 30+
modern women who are fashion conscious, and want an exclusive sophisticated
wardrobe. Continuously on-trend, Planet’s designs are stylish and flattering to
the feminine figure and presented in sizes 6-20. Planet also boasts an
outstanding corporate wear collection supplying successful business suiting for
many major organisations and smaller companies.
Precis Petite
 Precis Petite is the leading choice for the petite woman. Exclusively designed
to enhance the 5ft 3” and under figure, collections have been carefully
constructed to create a perfectly proportioned wardrobe for the modern woman.
Precis was the first brand to have the unique idea of designing a range of
garments that are not simply ‘scaled down’ versions of other styles, but made on
their own blocks and to their own patterns. Specialists in tailoring, the
