Elverys Sports was established in 1847 and is the oldest sports store in Ireland. Following a take over by Staunton Sports in 1998, Elverys Sports have expanded from a single store operation to fifty five stores nationwide and is the leading specialist sports retailer in the Irish Republic. We are delighted to have Nevada Bob’s (Europe) Ltd, one of the UK’s leading golfing retailers entering into expansion with us in early December 2009. The partnership in Ireland with Elverys Sports will involve the opening of two key stores in early December 2009 with the rollout of several other Nevada Bob's Golf specialist stores within the Elverys Sports chain of stores commencing early next year

Career Progression

The job, while demanding and exciting, offers a real sense of achievement, responsibility and satisfaction in working with quality products. You will be bale to move up the career ladder; from smaller to larger stores; and across the career ladder into lateral positions. There are no time restrictions put on your development, its all in your own hands. There is plenty of support from our in-house training and development programs.
In addition, Elverys offer an in house Trainee Manager program for exceptional employees to to develop into management roles. The 6 week fast track program offers Sports Advisors and external candidates with the personality and qualifications a mix of class room training, on the job experiences, and project work to develop their management skills. Following completion of the program trainees can then progress into Assistant Management roles and further develop their management skills.

Remuneration for managers

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package in line with the responsibility of each position. As we ourselves have a balanced lifestyle, we want you to too, so our managers work on average 42 hours per week and have 22 days annual leave.
Elverys offer top rates of pay and salary varies depending on the position, size of store, candidates experience etc.

In addition, each management role is linked to a store performance bonus program whereby a member of management may earn bonus on a quarterly basis. This bonus is paid on the achievement of various KPI’s including sales targets and customer service standards.
